Frequently Asked Questions

We’ve compiled a list of answers to various questions we often receive. Review the answers below and reach out if you have a different question.

What is a Senior Center?

A Senior Center is a multiservice community center where we offer daily programs and activities for active, independent older adults.  We serve lunch daily, offer a host of diverse classes and have an onsite fitness center. We are the “home away from home” for many older adults but we are not a residential facility.

Do you have to be a resident of Wayne, PA to come to the Senior Center?

No, we are happy to serve older adults of the greater Philadelphia community! We have members from Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties.

Where are you located?

We are directly across from the train station in downtown Wayne at 108 Station Road, Wayne, PA 19087.

What parking is available?

There is a Radnor Township municipal paid parking lot behind our building, between our building and the church.  Parking is 25 cents per half hour and can be paid at one of the parking kiosks located throughout the parking lot.  If you have a handicapped placard or license plate, then you do not need to pay for parking – it is free for you!

What other transportation options are there?

Busing options are available by the county in which you reside.  For Delaware county residents, we are able to subsidize your trip to the Senior Center – it only costs $1 each way.  We can help you set up an account or you can connect with DelGo Community Transit at ctdelco.org.

If you reside in Chester County, you can connect with Chesco Connect at https://www.chesco.org/5325/Community-Transit.  If you reside in Montgomery County, you can connect with TransNet at suburbantransit.org.

Other members come by train, dropped off by family or use Uber/Lyft.

Do you have to purchase a paid membership of $36 per year?

No, you are not required to purchase a membership, however, it does give you discounts on classes and access to WSC Connect – our virtual senior center.

Do you serve food?

Yes, we serve meals most weekdays for a suggested donation of $2.50 per meal.  You may also participate in the To Go lunch program.  Occasionally, we have special lunches as an option, those prices usually range from $5 to $10.

Can I renew my SEPTA card at the senior center?

Yes! We have a representative from Senator Amanda Cappelletti’s office here on the first Thursday of every month from 11:00 am – 12:30 pm to provide this service, as well as other constituent services.

Do you have notary services?

Unfortunately, we do not offer notary services at this time.  Please check with your local bank as many of them provide this service for free to their customers or your local state representatives offices.
